I have been waiting for advise on how to trim and train my Serissa because I really have no idea. I asked on one of the bonsai sites I visit, and they just tell me not to touch it because if I look at it wrong it will die. Ok, that is fine but how about some pointers on what direction to take the tree in.
I sat down with the tree last night and again tonight and started cutting the tree. I added some wire and then removed some wire. I had no idea where I was going or how I was going to get there. I really thinned this tree out though.
After taking these two pictures and looking at them I realize that I have bumped a couple of the branches that I had wired and those are now out of position. I have also noticed that I need to trim the left side some more.
I am learning so I do not mind looking back at the tree and seeing what I have done wrong. I do know that when you first style a tree it looks bare and horrid sometimes. As this tree is trained more branches will grow in and the tree will look fine.
Here are the images.
I was just noticing all of the back budding that this tree is in the process of doing.
